The Sea, Sand, & Stars Center at Orange Beach Elementary had the opportunity to host members of the Gulf Shores Senior Center and visiting snowbirds from the Gulf State Park on a two hour field trip designed as an opportunity to experience the facility’s programs through the “eyes of the children”. The two hour field trip included interactive and hands-on lessons in the areas of astronomy and marine science. Seniors and visitors rocketed off to the planets and surveyed the winter night sky in our planetarium and took an undersea adventure to explore the dynamics of local marine species up close and personal at our touch tank and aquaria displays.
