Mrs. Hollis’s class has been learning about Earth and the solar system. They did an experiment showing how craters happen in the moon using flour and balls. The students loved it! They are also learning about being a great friend at Valentine’s. To celebrate the great day, they will each make, bake, and decorate their very own cake to take home and share with their families. Yummy! Their yearly Read-a-thon begins on the 13th and students are reading and reading to be ready. Happy reading everyone!
Big things are happening in the third grade. This week students are beginning to explore the world of division. With the help of using manipulatives, students will begin to understand the process of division. Another important event occurring in the third grade is a field trip to thePensacolaHistoricalVillage. Students have been learning about the colonial times and will get to explore different hands-on activities that bring this time period to life.
The students in Ms. Baggett’s 4th grade class at Orange Beach Elementary decided to participate in a community service project for Valentine’s Day. They decided to make Valentine cards and treat bags for the residents at Robertsdale Health Care Center. They have been busy assembling treat bags with lip balms, lotions, tissues, and sugar free candy. They hope their homemade cards and treat bags bring a smile to the residents there.
