Blake Fisher's Tornado Transformation Artwork
Ms. Baggett’s 4th grade class at Orange Beach Elementary studied severe weather in our state. They learned what causes severe weather and how to be prepared in the event of a storm. The students were given an art activity where they were asked to transform an image of a tornado into something else. Blake Fisher transformed his image of a tornado into an elephant. Blake stated, “I was thinking about how the tornado looked like an elephant’s trunk. I also thought about how the tornado changed the University of Alabama and Tuscaloosa after it swept through our state.” When asked what he meant by “changed”, Blake further explained, “he meant not only the landscape changed, but the people changed as well.” Blake's picture is now on display at the University of Alabama.
